# Deposits and withdrawals

> How to add funds, how your USD balance works, and how to withdraw.

Money on Turbo works like this: you deposit from the app, hold a USD balance, and withdraw whenever you choose.

## Adding funds

Deposit directly from the app once your identity check is complete. The deposit methods available to you are shown in the app and vary by region.

Deposited funds land in a wallet that only you control — Turbo never takes custody of your money. [Security and custody](/security) explains exactly how that works.

## Everything is in USD

Your balance is held and displayed in USD, and so is everything else: prices, profit and loss, margin, fees. Every number in the app is a dollar number, so there's never a conversion to do in your head mid-trade.

## Withdrawing

There are no lock-ins and no withdrawal windows. Standard verification checks aside, you move your balance when you choose, straight from the app.

Funds that are currently posted as margin behind open positions can't be withdrawn until those positions are closed — [Your balance](/balance) explains the difference between available cash and used margin.
