Who holds my money?
When you create your account, a wallet is created for you. Your balance lives there — in your wallet, under your control — not on Turbo’s books. There is nobody at Turbo who can move your balance or freeze it. The keys to that wallet are generated and stored inside secure hardware enclaves, operated with Turnkey, specialist key-security infrastructure. The keys never leave the enclave and are never visible to Turbo, to Turnkey, or to anyone else — they sign your transactions inside dedicated hardware, and that’s all they do. This is a different model from a traditional broker, where “your” balance is an entry in the company’s ledger and withdrawing is a request the company processes. On Turbo, a withdrawal is a transaction you sign yourself, not a request the company approves. What that means in practice
- Withdrawals don’t need approval. There’s no withdrawal window or lock-in period — see Deposits and withdrawals.
- You still verify who you are. The identity check happens once, when you open your account.
- Trading risk is still trading risk. Custody protects your funds from everyone else. It doesn’t protect a leveraged position from the market — that’s what margin, stop losses, and sensible leverage are for.
Your account
Your account is protected by the identity verification you complete at signup and the security of the device the app runs on. Treat your phone accordingly: keep its screen lock on, keep the OS updated, and never share your login with anyone. Nobody from Turbo will ever ask for your credentials.Related
